In quantum physics, the way how properties of a system are measured, and the way how the evolution of a system from an initial to a final state are described, are unfamiliarly different from how this is done in classical physics. We need to understand how quantum physics deals with this, if we ever want to understand Mössbauer spectroscopy.

After this video, you will understand the role and meaning of amplitude and intensity for property measurement and time evolution of a quantum system.

The task related to this video goes as follows: *Imagine you perform the double slit experiment with electrons. But you put an extra sensor next to the slits, which can measure which slit is taken by each electron. Describe the intensity pattern you will observe on the screen, and describe the procedure how you have to find this intensity pattern from the amplitudes of the two possible paths.*
