(optional) synchrotron Mössbauer spectroscopy at extreme conditions

As an optional piece of fun, you might want to watch this conference talk of C. McCammon. It combines the previous (Mössbauer) and the present (synchrotron) chapter of this course, as it shows how scientists use a synchrotron to do conventional Mossbauer spectroscopy, and apply it to solve questions in Earth science. There are no tasks associated with this video, and it’s an optional one anyway. But it’s presented in such an absorbing en enthusiasmizing way, that you will not regret spending half an hour to watch and understand it.
